Woodside High School Swim Team

• Practices will be held Monday-Friday afternoons + Wednesday morning
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 4-6pm (suited up at 3:50, in the water at 4!)
  • Wednesday morning (optional) 6:45-8am, afternoon 3:30-5:30pm
• Pool covers
  • Students are required to take off and put back pool covers when necessary.
  • If you are found exiting prior to the pool being taken care of, you will receive a warning.
  • Repeated non-participation will result in being let off the team. Please make tutoring appointments etc. arrangements outside of swim team hours.
  • All swimmers must stay and pull covers after home meets.

• Attendance will be taken daily. Attendance at all afternoon practices is mandatory during the week.
  • Please read further for our club swimmer and water polo attendance policies.
• Swimmers may not practice exclusively on their own instead of the WHS swim team.
• WHS is a competitive swim team. We do not offer a practice team only.
• The following exceptions may apply
  • If you didn't attend school (field trips count as attending school) you may not attend swim practice or a meet.
• If you inform the coaches at the beginning of the season of any conflicts within the season which would cause you to miss any practices/meets.
• Attendance at the PAL championships is mandatory. You cannot receive credit for the season if you skip any part of PAL's for any reason.
  • Girls’ Trials: Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
  • Boys’ Trials: Thursday, May 1, 2025.
  • Finals & Relays: Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Absence Policy

• If you are sick or unable to attend practice, email Coach Stephanie through the contact form on the athletic site with the reason for your absence and CC your parents in the email.
• If you are sick and do not attend school, you must email the coaches to let us know. Please CC both your parents and coaches when emailing regarding sick days.
• Parents, please plan your vacation around our swim schedule! Please know every swimmer is needed to do our best at our meets, and do not skip a meet to go on a nice vacay! : ) Our season is short and we can only do well if everyone is committed and dedicated.

Club Swimmer Attendance

• Club swimmers must attend practice the day before each meet. This is mandatory.
• Club swimmers are expected to attend all meets.
• Let the coaches know which USA swim team you are swimming with at the start of the season in writing.

Water Polo Attendance

• Plan to attend swim practice the majority of the week.
• You must attend swim practice 3x if you are playing polo 2x a week.
• You must attend swim practice 4x if you are playing polo 1x a week.
• Let the coaches know which polo team you are on and what day you practice so it gets documented. Team rosters from Mid-Pen and Stanford will be noted.
